Error: “There was a problem connecting to OneDrive. Check your internet connection, and try again.”

Issue Description: When the user clicks on the ‘Getting Started’ option in the OneDrive setup wizard, I get the above mentioned error. The user is able to browse the web through web browser but only OneDrive displays this error. 

Troubleshooting: This issue is mostly caused due to incorrect settings in Internet Explorer or if a proxy is setup to connect to Internet. Users can try the following steps and check: 

Disable proxy 

If you have setup a proxy connection, I would suggest you to disable the proxy and check. Refer these steps: 

  1. Click the Gear box at the top right corner in Internet Explorer. 
  1. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. 
  1. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings. 
  1. Uncheck the option “Use a Proxy Server for your LAN”. 
  1. Click Apply and Ok to save changes. 
 
Reset Internet Explorer 

If the issue still persist, try resetting Internet Explorer and check. Refer to this article:
